Alta Rezia is home of important sporting events, both in winter and summertime. The most famous places in Alta Rezia are Bormio, Livigno, Passo dello Stelvio, Santa Caterina, which are going to be explored thanks to our bike tour.

We will ride on mule tracks built by the Alpine troops in the First World War (1915/18), while visiting forts, trenches and villages; cycling on the paths used by smugglers, we’ll cross over passes at 3000 meters above sea level. Mountains landscape has peaks covered with snow and glaciers, where alpine lakes colors are amazing and wood unpolluted: we will cycle among vast pastures and wild environments.

We are in the wildlife realm where the ibex and the bearded vulture live. Alta Rezia is a true naturalistic paradise, a place to discover and love without neglecting the tasty Valtellinese cuisine and its excellent wines.

Day 1: Welcome
Meeting in Livigno at the hotel within 5.00 pm, registration, welcome drink, dinner and tour presentation by the guide.

Day 2: Livigno (1816 mt) - Arnoga (1870 mt)
From the hotel, we head towards the Lake of Livigno (1816 m) along the cycle path, we cross a splendid larch forest, we reach the entrance of the Val Alpisella, we arrive at the pass of the same name (2285 m) and for a descent (here we will have two possibilities, one more technical the other more smooth) we reach the Cancano Lakes (1950 m). After having skirted the first lake for a few kilometers we climb up to reach Malga Trela ​​(2170 m), stopping for an appetizing break. We leave to reach the Vezzola Pass (2268 meters) and with a fairly technical descent we reach the Decauville, reaching shortly the hotel (1870 meters).   STAGE DEVELOPMENT: 33 km | DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 1250 mt

Day 3: Arnoga (1870 mt) - Bormio 3000 Santa Caterina Valfurva (1750 mt)
From the hotel, we travel the whole  Decauville to reach the ancient Towers of Fraele (1391dC) and the Cancano Lakes (1950m). We go down towards Bormio (1238 m) through the Braulio Valley, passing through the Bagni Nuovi, crossing alleys and villages, we reach Bormio. According to the timetable, we stop for a snack in Combo. From there we walk a few hundred meters and reach the cableway that leads us to Bormio 3000. From an altitude of 3000 there’s a technical descent to the Bei Laghetti (2700 meters), (I won't reveal the color, you’ll be surprised) and then in Val Sobretta. After a short 20 minutes climb, we go down in a fairytale forest, until we reach Santa Caterina Valfurva (1750 meters).   STAGE DEVELOPMENT: 49 Km ALTITUDE: 2590 meters of which 1750 meters by cableway

Day 4: Santa Caterina Valfurva (1750 mt) - Val Zebrù - Bormio (1225 mt)
From the hotel (1750m) take the bike up to Val Cedec (Rif. Forni 2200 m or Rif. Pizzini 2706 m.) The day is dedicated to the legendary trail of Val Zebrù. We pedal in front of the well-known Glacier of the Valle dei Forni, surrounded by the white snow peaks of Punta San Matteo (3678 m) and Pizzo Tresero (3594 m). From Rif. Pizzini you go up another 400 meters to reach Passo Zebrù (3000 meters), there we can admire the whole Val Cedec on one side and the long Val Zebrù on the other, behind there is the majestic Gran Zebrù ( 3859 mt). From the Pass a sensational descent begins, it is initially very technical and challenging, which then continues with a beautiful single trail until you reach the Baita del Pastore (where we can find excellent local cheese). From here we take a dirt road to Bormio (1225 meters).   STAGE DEVELOPMENT: 33 km | DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 1400 meters (of which 500 meters or 1000 meters by bike-shuttle)

Day 5: Bormio (1225 mt) - Stelvio Pass (2758 mt) - Livigno (1816 mt)
From the hotel, by bike-shuttle we reach the Stelvio Pass (2758 meters), where we can admire the road that connects the Val Venosta with the Valtellina, an engineering work carried out in the years 1822-1825 by the engineer Donegani. This area in the First World War was much disputed between the Austro-Hungarian Army and the Italian Army. From the Pass we go up for another 200 meters and reach the Garibaldi Refuge. From here a fantastic mule track starts, with cobbled pavement, which descends in hairpin bends  to the Umbrailpass (2488 meters). With a well-marked path we reach the Bocchetta Forcola (2768 m), a place that offers an amazing view of the highest peak in the area, Mount Ortles (3905 m). From Bocchetta Forcola we reach Pedenolo and with a descent of 700 meters we arrive at the Cancano lakes (1950 meters). We continue towards Alpe Trela ​​(2170 m) and then the Trela ​​pass (2295 m). It starts to descend again for a single trail full of parabolic curves and you reach the Lake of Livigno (1816 m).   STAGE DEVELOPMENT: 55 km | ALTITUDE: 3400 mt (of which 1500 mt with bike-shuttle)
